But then I read some online tips and tricks, played some matches and absolutely became addicted to it. But I decided to give it a go on my second playthrough (new game +). Thought it was a waste of precious gaming time (I don't have the schedule to play long hours lol). Don't overdo it, winning by one point is the same result as winning by 100!!!Įven I didn't care about Gwent on my first playthrough. Last but not least once you get 18-20 points ahead the opponent will pass unless that the game winning hand. Remember that if the opponent wins the first hand they'll usually pass early in the second to preserve their cards so don't play loads of high point cards. So if an opponent passes on 30 points you should only play to 31, otherwise you're wasting points. Then be sure to only play enough points to win the hand. it must be only one! Play that first as it draws the other two from your deck so you get 12 points for playing one card. Make sure at the beginning of the game you have one of the Gaunter cards in your starting hand. Forget weather cards and set Foltest "Clear weather effects" as your leader card. Doing this reduces the chances that you'll draw a useless card. Next up only have the bare minimum number of unit cards in your deck (22). Even if not they're great for using on Dun Banner Medic or Villentretenmerth. Have plenty of decoys in case your opponent has spies.

Play as Northern Realms and get all the Blue Stripes, Crinfrid Reavers, and Tight Bond Siege cards (I think they're catapults?) Plus all the special cards (black numbers) and spies, oh and the Gaunter O'Dimm darkness ones too.

Once you figure out how to play it's easy but you need to hunt down the best cards. Even won when I had only like half the cards its so strong. i used this tactic and only lost 1 round ever since against a skellige deck. If you lost or gave up a round then just finish them 3rd round, you'll probably have more and better cards. Ai tend to waste their cards sometimes instead of waiting. And then 2nd round all in with the hero cards so they can't use Villentretenmerth early on your blue stripes. Use them to get as much cards in your hand as possible, maybe even win first round. Gameplaywise: Try to get at least 2 spies in your hand at drawing. I find the 2 best cards to be Thaler and mysterious elf look them up they are a great trade for 2 cards. Villentretenmerth to counter some plays like Monster melee swarming. And most importantly 2 decoys to counter spies and to reuse the siege medic lady. The easiest to collect is probably the northern realms one.īasically no weather cards, all possible spies, 2-2 scorch and horn, tight bond cards, 2 reviver(forget the name) and every 10+ hero cards.
